Following two rounds of community and trader consultation in 2023, we have put together Advanced Designs for the $3.3 million streetscape and flood mitigation works that we'll be undertaking in the shopping strip along Nepean Highway in Edithvale, in 2025.

We're now ready to share these Advanced Designs and are seeking your feedback on the colour palette that we'll be using in street furniture and other complementary elements.

Watch how it's shaping up

With many of the elements we'll be including in the works now mapped out, we were able to arrange for an Artist's Impression of the landscaping, furniture placement and new footpath we're planning to construct. Please note that these Advanced Designs may be subject to some small changes - including selecting the final colour palette for the street furniture, which we'd love your feedback on.

Background

In 2022, we committed $2.3 million in LXRP funding to upgrade the Edithvale shopping strip, which spans across 11 blocks (From 280 Nepean Highway, Edithvale in the south, to north of the intersection at Nepean Highway and Natal Avenue. Council will support this with an additional $1 million, to undertake flood mitigation works.

We then set about to work with the community and traders to seek feedback on what they want, and how to best deliver it. The summary report containing the outcomes of our 2023 consultations, can be found here.

Artists renders depicting some planting, furniture and footpath works can be viewed above. You can view and download a copy of the Advanced Designs in the document section of this page.
