2023-2026 Kingston Youth Strategy
Council is seeking feedback on its draft 2023-2026 Kingston Youth Strategy
Earlier this year we sought submissions from Kingston's young people (aged 12-24), educators, service providers and carers, to find out what should be included in our 2023-2026 Youth Strategy.
Thanks to the 900+ people who completed a survey and provided us with valuable insight about the issues, services, training and activities we can provide for our young people who live, work and study in Kingston.
We have put together a Draft 2023-2026 Youth Strategy and want to know if we got it right.
Read about how we got this feedback in the Consultation summary available in the document library.

We heard that being supported, acknowledged, connected and prepared are the top four priorities for our 12 to 24-year-olds who live, work and study in Kingston.
Please take a few moments to read the Draft 2023-2026 Kingston Youth Strategy in the document library and then complete our quick survey below.
We're committed to support young people
As a local government organisation, Kingston Council is committed to ensuring the wellbeing of its community, extending well beyond their original roles of ‘rates, roads and rubbish.
In fact, almost 15% of people living in Kingston are aged 12 to 24 - and this number is growing!’
As part of the work Council does, we connect people to a diverse range of social, educational, cultural, health and leisure opportunities. This strengthens our community's sense of belonging and provides pathways for young people and their families to additional support/services to meet their needs.
Significant changes have taken place in both the youth service system and Kingston community since the previous strategy (Kingston's Youth Strategy 2019-2021) and between February and May this year (2022), our staff visited schools, events and ran online surveys to check-in with the community to assist us with the development of a new Youth Strategy for our city.
We aim to work effectively with young people, schools, parents/carers and the wider community, and have drafted a strategy for the next four years which aims to support, empower and advocate for young people aged 12 to 25 years and complements Kingston's Community Vision:
“Kingston is a resilient, inclusive and diverse community. We are building the most liveable and sustainable city in Victoria. We champion and nurture our green and open spaces creating a safe, healthy environment. Our shared legacy connects our community, embracing innovation, making Kingston the place to live.”
