Consultation has concluded
We're excited to be planning for the future of play and active recreation spaces in Kingston!
We want to work with you to create play spaces that are welcoming and inclusive for everyone to enjoy - young people, older people, families, carers and people of all abilities.
We use a Playground Strategy to help us design and build our playgrounds - but our current strategy is now well over 10 years old!
So, this year (with your help!), we're creating a new Play and Active Recreation Strategy to ensure we can provide and maintain play spaces that support children, youth and adults to have fun and get active in Kingston.
What are play and active recreation spaces?
Play and active recreation spaces include traditional playgrounds, and activities such as:
Skate Parks
Tennis Courts
Basketball half courts
Footy goals
Cricket nets
Futsal goals
Netball ring
Outdoor gym
BMX
Bocce
Pump track
Rebound wall
Table tennis
Disc golf and more!
While we do have a lot of play and active recreation spaces in Kingston, we need to make sure that they are designed and located in areas that meet your needs.
This consultation closed on Monday 19 June, 2023.
