We’re keen to hear from the community to help shape the future of Chelsea.
In 2019, with the community’s help, we began work on a plan for the Chelsea Activity Centre (called a Structure Plan) that incorporates community values, builds on the best of Chelsea and sets out an exciting vision for its future.
Unfortunately, due to the accelerated timeframes for the Chelsea, Edithvale and Bonbeach level crossing removals, and the pandemic, our work was put on hold. However, with these State Government projects now complete, we’re keen to hear from the community about any new issues or opportunities that also need to be considered as part of the process.
What you told us
A significant amount of community consultation has already been undertaken – thank you to everyone who got involved in phase one! You told us the key things you love and value about Chelsea and want to see protected in the future were:
The beach and seaside lifestyle
The coastal village feel of the centre
The parks, wetlands and open spaces
Proximity to shops, transport and the beach
Sense of community and community connection
You can read the full consultation report for more detail. All of this feedback will still help shape the Structure Plan, we just want to check in to see if things have changed and there are new items that also need to be considered. The anticipated boundary for the plan can be found below.
How do I get involved?
There’s lots of different ways to get involved and have your say!
We want to work collaboratively with you to develop a plan that incorporates community values, builds on the best of Chelsea’s features and sets out an exciting vision for the future.
